My dad got assigned to the middle of nowhere in Iowa. Well, it was West Des Moines but compared to crazy Chicago, it felt like I was trapped in the world’s biggest ‘burb. Then the 9/11 tragedy happened and the economy (frankly, the entire country) went topsy-turvy and it wasn’t such a good time to be a POC either. Opportunities in sunny and family-filled Manila beckoned and here we are now.
